Live Entertainment, Food & Vendors at the Mineral Lake Fishing Derby
The Mineral Lake Fishing Derby is more than just a fishing event — it’s a full outdoor experience in the scenic foothills near Mt. Rainier in Mineral, Washington.
Throughout Saturday of Derby weekend, visitors can enjoy live music from talented Pacific Northwest performers, delicious offerings from local food vendors, and a variety of community and market booths featuring handmade goods, outdoor gear, local services, and nonprofit organizations.
Whether you’re fishing for prizes, camping at the Mineral Lake Lions Den Campground, or simply looking for a fun family event in Lewis County, the Derby offers something for everyone. Guests are encouraged to stay, explore, eat, shop, and relax by the lake while enjoying entertainment and activities throughout the weekend.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Mason Gaul, a returning Derby performer and true crowd favorite.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest in the small town of Vader, Washington, Mason brings a unique musical style shaped by both the country roots he grew up on and the grunge rock influences that defined the Northwest music scene of the 1990s. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and fresh — perfect for a lakeside afternoon in Mineral.
Mason is an accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist whose original music reflects his deep connection to the outdoors, community, and the stories of the region. His debut album Mudflow (2023) was inspired by the lives lost during the eruption of Mt. St. Helens — an event that shaped the communities of Southwest Washington and continues to resonate today.
When he’s not performing at local events and venues across the Pacific Northwest, Mason enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his wife and his dog Remington.
