Washington State Aquatic Invasive Species Decontamination regulations (WAC 220-220-220 7)

In accordance with Washington State Aquatic Invasive Species Decontamination regulations (WAC 220-220-220 7)pre-registration is required for any participant launching a boat into Mineral Lake with the intention of entering their catch in the derby AND Derby tickets must be purchased before their fishing line hits the water.

Participants fishing from docks or shorelines are exempt from the pre-registration requirement but must still purchase a derby ticket to submit a catch AND they must purchase a Derby ticket before their fishing line hits the water.


Event Details:

  • Derby Start: Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 12:01 AM
  • Catch Entry Deadline: Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM – Must Be Present To Win!
  • Ticket Cost: $10.00 per participant
  • Ticket Sale Cutoff: Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM
  • Requirement: Tickets must be purchased before lines are in the water
  • Pre-Registration: AIS Decontamination Statement &/or Report must be completed before launching boat on Mineral Lake

  • Sunday, April 26 | 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM

⚠️ Important:

  • There will be NO ticket sales at the State Boat Launch
  • Tickets must be purchased before fishing begins.
  • Cash Only.

You must purchase your Derby ticket before your fishing line hits the water.


Under state law, all participants launching into any Washington body of water must complete an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Decontamination StatementThis must be done before you launch your boat on Mineral Lake.

You will confirm whether your boat and trailer have been in physical contact with any waters outside of Washington in the 30 days before the contest.

  • If your boat/trailer has been out-of-state, you must also complete an AIS Decontamination Report to show proper actions were taken.
